George is the most easygoing and laid-back one of the litter. He initially be shy when meeting new humans but looks to Ruckus to show him who is the most fun and what toys are the best. George definitely loves bouncy balls the best. George loves dog beds and comfy couches that he can snuggle up on. George, and Ruckus are super friendly and easygoing siblings. They love to relax on the couch, look out the window, and go on nice walks.
It’s our role to ensure that every animal is safe, well cared for both physically and emotionally and finally leaves to become not just almost home but forever home. We are a non-profit organization funded solely by donations from our generous supporters. We are a limited intake ("no-kill") facility serving North Central Iowa. 4-years-old, 65lbs and patiently looking for a forever home.

Almost Home Animal Rescue League was founded in 1999 by Gail Montgomery Schwartz and Lauren Montgomery Anchill. The mother and daughter team became disheartened while volunteering at various animal shelters. The Sponsor a Pet program is handled by The Petfinder Foundation, a 5013 nonprofit organization, to ensure that shelters and rescue groups receive donations in the easiest way possible.
To care for and continue to find new homes for many hundreds of animals in Northern Ireland every year. Our foster program provides temporary housing and care for cats, kittens, dogs and puppies who have special needs or just aren't ready for adoption yet. Petfinder currently includes pets and adoption organizations from the regions listed above. Please check back in the future for any potential expansion. Many communities are embracing Trap, Neuter, Release programs to improve animal welfare, reduce death rates, and meet obligations to public welfare. Volunteers are a vital part of Almost Home Adoptions.

Since its beginning, Almost Home Animal Shelter has been a front line defense for thousands of local unwanted, stray, or mistreated pets. We clean them up, give them a safe clean living area, quality food, fresh water, and a chance to survive with dignity and love until someone comes along just for them. As volunteers we spend our time hands on and get to know all of our animals pretty well. No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. He is the most gorgeous Aussie and just needs the right experienced owner who can give this boy a job to do and let him run in a yard or a small farm with land. He currently is in Board and Train with Top Dog Farm in hopes he will get the best suited home and be properly trained. Tripp is a very friendly dog once he warms up to people as his breed suggests.

These siblings would do great in a home with cats, other calm dogs, or older children. ADOPTION is our primary goal at Almost Home. We vet all potential adoption applicants to assure that each of our beloved pets find their way to a responsible and caring home. Done right, adoption should be a win-win proposition. We do our very best to have every dog and cat go home to a new happy and safe home. Thanks to a lot of hard work, that dream took off and flourished.

Based in Moira, we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome companion animals and other small animals across Northern Ireland. Being of the ‘never kill’ philosophy, they were disturbed by the endless euthanasia practiced simply because animals were born homeless and society felt there was no place for them. A huge part of what we do is to teach those adopting from us what dogs are "saying" to us with their body language...one of the most important aspects of the human/dog relationship.
